Debtors Supervisor

SUMMARY:
One of my clients, a leader in the distribution of global technology brands/products, is on the search for a skilled Debtors Supervisor with a passion for managing processes and driving results.

POSITION INFO:
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Debtors Manager to oversee and manage the debtors' book within a dynamic and fast-paced environment. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring timely collections, minimizing bad debt, and contributing to the smooth running of the finance team.

Job Experience & Skills Required:

• Must have a Credit Management Certificate level 3, 4 or 5 or a Diploma/BCom in Finance/Accounting, or related.
• Proven experience in a debtors management role, ideally within the distribution or retail sector.
• Strong understanding of debt collection, credit control, and account management.
• Excellent communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines.
• High attention to detail and a proactive approach to resolving issues.
• Experience on SAP is an advantage.

• Manage the debtors’ book and ensure that outstanding debts are collected on time.
• Monitor overdue accounts and take the necessary actions to recover funds.
• Develop and implement strategies to reduce bad debt and improve debtor days.
• Collaborate with the sales team to address customer disputes and ensure smooth collections.
• Prepare and deliver regular reports on the status of debtors, highlighting potential risks.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date customer credit records.
• Ensure compliance with internal credit policies and procedures.
• Assist with cash flow forecasting and budgeting.
