We are looking for 40 Desktop Technicians to work at our client. Contract for a duration of 9-10 months, expected start date is end Jan 2025. 3-7 years’ experience (Team members)
We need 9 team members in each of the following areas as they need to be onsite and hold a valid driver’s licence.

Background:
This project aims to upgrade all eligible workstations to Windows 11, ensuring compatibility, data integrity, and a smooth transition to Office 365 and Exchange Online. Key tasks include procurement of licenses, workstation upgrades, data backup and restore, and mailbox migration.
Scope of work description:
Mailbox Migration
- Migrate User Mailboxes to Exchange Online
- Plan and execute the migration of user mailboxes, transferring data from the on-premises Exchange server to Exchange Online.
- Conduct testing to confirm mailbox integrity, ensuring that all data (emails, calendar entries, contacts) are accurately migrated.
- Notify users of the migration timeline, including any expected service interruptions, and provide post-migration support to ensure users can access their accounts seamlessly.
- Set up auto-discovery for Outlook clients to redirect to the new Exchange Online accounts without manual configuration.
Workstations Upgraded to Windows 11
- Assessment of Compatibility and Windows 11 Installation
- Evaluate current workstations for hardware compatibility with Windows 11, documenting any potential issues.
- Install Windows 11 on compatible devices, configuring necessary drivers, settings, and security policies.
- Validate that upgraded workstations are operating smoothly, running essential business applications, and connecting securely to the network.
- Post-Upgrade Testing and Verification
- Conduct functionality tests on upgraded workstations, including network access, software compatibility, and printer connectivity.
- Provide end users with a checklist to verify that their applications, files, and settings are correctly restored and functioning.
User Data Backed Up and Restored
- Comprehensive Data Backup Prior to Upgrade
- Identify critical data on each workstation, including documents, desktop files, application settings, and any locally stored email or files.
- Use an automated backup solution or manual methods to copy data to a secure location, such as a network drive or cloud storage, ensuring data availability throughout the project.
