Despatch Supervisor (Centurion)

SUMMARY:
Assist the Warehouse Departmental Manager in maintaining the smooth operations of a fast-moving environment. Responsible for the day-to-day management of staff within the warehouse function, to ensure that the company’s targets and objectives are met and to meet the customer requirements. Ensure that the staff comply with health, safety and standard operating procedures.

Qualifications and Experience:

• Preferred BSc degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Warehouse management or Business Administration, alternatively Diploma in Logistics and Warehouse management from a recognised institution.
• Highly effective supervisory skills and techniques
• Ability to input, retrieve and analyse data, with strength in Excel.
• Hands-on commitment to getting the job done
• Demonstrated experience of managing warehouse staff and operations, preferably in the automotive industry
• Demonstrated experience in leading a diverse team positively.
• Previous demonstrated management experience with the ability to manage and motivate others (min 3 years supervisory experience)
• Previous demonstrated experience of inventory control
• A full understanding of the requirements of managing a warehouse, such as health and safety and security requirements
• A full understanding of ISO standards (Specifically ISO 45001 and ISO 9001)
• Knowledge of warehousing Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and best practices.
• Hands on experience with warehouse management software and database management where appropriate.
• Forklift Truck license may be required

• Provide a safe working environment adhering to Health and Safety and Environmental procedures and ensuring they are always understood and practiced by the team.
• Plan, co-ordinate and monitor the receipt, storage, and dispatch of goods.
• Ensure orders are processed efficiently and that the delivery of stock meets customers timescales/ requirements.
• Supervise and control order picking, goods in, goods out operations to ensure accuracy with minimum handling and stock damage.
• Organise, facilitate, and manage stock takes at regular intervals
• Ensure that all relevant procedures and processes are followed and adhered to in line with the Company’s procedures and requirements.
• Responsible for driving Standard Working and ensuring quality processes are implemented to ensure a “Right First Time” product to the customer aligned with their expectation.
• Ensure that the product is delivered to the customer on time, every time using appropriate methods together with the Despatch Department.
• Ensure that internal delivery processes are adhered to, by supporting dispatch time windows.
  
• Identify errors and eliminate root 
  cause using robust countermeasures.
• Sustain the corrective action to 
  eliminate repeat issues
• In conjunction with the Warehouse
  Departmental Manager, implement 
  warehouse and management systems and working practices in line with nest practices and continuous 
  improvement
• Control of Forklift truck Management 
  to ensure full operational capacity and achieve daily targets
• Oversee and inform the Warehouse
  Departmental Manager of any planned maintenance of vehicles, machinery, and equipment.
• Ensure security of warehouse 
  environment and maintain access 
  control, ensuring 5s housekeeping 
  standards are always maintained
• Monitor and maintain stock accuracy 
  by ensuring the physical stock is in line with the warehouse management system and ensure all stock movements are recorded to ensure 
  accuracy
• Maintain the management of supplier return packaging.
• Record and communicate all shortage issues to the Warehouse Departmental Manager
