SUMMARY:
We are currently recruiting for a Diesel Mechanic for a mine based in Brits (North West).

POSITION INFO:
Experience & Qualification:

Grade12/N4
Diesel Mechanic Trade Certificate.
Minimum 5 years experience as a Diesel Mechanic surface and underground.
ASE Diesel Certification advantageous.
Advanced knowledge of diesel engine components.
Good IT and diagnostic skills.
Proficiency with maintenance and repair tools.
Competent B Certificate.
First Aid Certificate.
Must have own transport and a valid SA driver’s license.
Good general health AND a certificate of fitness (Red Ticket).

Ability to function on your own and within a team.
Independent, self-motivated, proactive thinking.
Ability to communicate in English (written & verbal) and one other official language.

Duties and responsibiolities:

Ensure that a good standard of safety awareness is maintained.
Ensure that section personnel comply with the requires Health and Safety and Environmental standards.
Ensure good housekeeping standards and maintained.
Daily, Weekly and Monthly inspections to be done.
Running diagnostic tests on vehicles.
Analysing diagnostic test results.
Replacing vehicle engines, steering mechanisms, transmissions, and braking systems.
Checking vehicle lighting systems.
Test driving vehicles to gauge performance.
Performing preventative maintenance on service trucks.
Maintaining detailed records of serviced vehicles.
Adhering to an inspection procedure checklist.
Maintaining a parts inventory.
Ensuring the cleanliness of the shop
Must be able to work overtime when required.
Must be able to work overtime when required
