POSITION INFO:

Job Description:
Prepare detailed technical drawings for building systems, including HVAC, plumbing, fire protection, and electrical systems, using AutoCAD or similar drafting software
Collaborate with engineers and project teams to understand project requirements and develop accurate designs that meet specifications
Ensure all drawings are accurate, complete, and compliant with building codes, regulations, and client specifications
Revise and update drawings based on feedback from engineers, clients, or project changes
Assist with creating and maintaining design documentation, including specifications, material lists, and construction details
Conduct site visits, as necessary, to verify existing conditions and ensure designs meet real-world constraints
Coordinate with contractors and suppliers to ensure the feasibility and accuracy of designs during installation
Keep up to date with the latest trends, tools, and technologies in building services to continuously improve drafting practices
 
Skills & Experience:
Proven experience as a Draughtsman in building services, with a focus on HVAC, plumbing, fire protection, or similar systems
Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, or other drafting software
Strong understanding of building codes, regulations, and industry standards
Excellent attention to detail and the ability to work with minimal supervisio
Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to collaborate effectively with engineers and other team members
Relevant technical qualification in draughting or building services engineering
 
Minimum requirements
Draughting certificate
4 years of experience building services
 
Only South African Residents or individuals with a relevant South African work permit will be considered.
