Electrician

SUMMARY:
The Electrician will be responsible for inspecting, testing, repairing, installing, and modifying electrical components and systems in our Rage stores in Gauteng

POSITION INFO:

• Assist with all electrical tasks given by head office
• Changing DB-Board positions if required (physically moving it)
• Label DB-Board:
• Connect wires to circuit breakers, transformers, or other components
• Inspect electrical systems, equipment, and components to identify hazards, defects, and the need for adjustment or repair, and to ensure compliance with codes
• Advise management on whether continued operation of equipment could be hazardous
• Test electrical systems and continuity of circuits in electrical wiring, equipment, and fixtures, using testing devices such as ohmmeters, voltmeters, and oscilloscopes, to ensure compatibility and safety of system
• Plan layout and installation of electrical wiring, equipment and fixtures, based on job specifications and local codes
• Assemble, install, test, and maintain electrical or electronic wiring, equipment, appliances, apparatus, and fixtures, using hand tools and power tools.
• Work from ladders, scaffolds, and roofs to install, maintain or repair electrical wiring, equipment, and fixtures.
• Place conduit (pipes or tubing) inside designated partitions, walls, or other concealed areas, and pull insulated wires or cables through the conduit to complete circuits between boxes.
• Pull Telkom/phone lines to connect
• Assist with shop fitting tasks, lifting units and offloading trucks
• Assist with installation of lights according to lighting plan
• Assist with installing LBR lights, unit lights and others where required to be installed
• Ensure the electrical light layouts provided are followed
• Assist with connecting cameras once approved and confirm with the IT Department when it is in a working order
• Report with sending images of working cameras on the WhatsApp group to the maintenance department
• Assist with all ad hoc duties required in the Shop fitting a Maintenance Department

• Previous electrical experience is required
• Must be a Red Seal Qualified Electrician 
• Must be situated in Gauteng
• Able to read and understanding electrical blueprints, schematics, and diagrams
• Working knowledge of electrical theory, and the associated principles, materials, and equipment
• Demonstrated ability to operate hand and power tools associated with electrical work
• Ability to calculate basic mathematical problems
• Able to travel with the shop fitting team cross country to various Rage stores
