POSITION INFO:
Are you passionate about classic cars and have a deep understanding of engine restoration? Join our expert team at a highly successful premium classic car workshop renowned for delivering award-winning restorations. We are looking for an experienced Engine Builder/Engineer to join our skilled team, specializing in restoring and rebuilding engines for some of the world’s most iconic classic vehicles.
Key Responsibilities
Engine rebuilding and restoration: Dismantle, rebuild, and restore classic car engines to original factory specifications or custom performance standards.
Precision engineering: Inspect, measure, and machine engine components to ensure the highest level of accuracy and quality.
Fault diagnosis and repair: Identify and troubleshoot engine issues, ensuring all work meets the workshop’s rigorous standards of excellence.
Collaboration with restoration team: Work closely with our restoration team, including bodywork, upholstery, and electrics experts, to ensure seamless integration of the engine within the overall restoration project.
Maintain records and documentation: Accurately document work carried out on each project, including parts used, measurements, and any modifications.
Engine tuning and performance testing: Conduct post-build tuning and testing to ensure optimal engine performance and reliability.
Job Requirements
Technicial, Mechanical or Engineering Qualification.
Proven experience in engine building or engineering, preferably within the classic car or motorsport industries.
Strong mechanical skills and an expert understanding of classic car engines, including carburettors, fuel injection, ignition systems, and more.
Attention to detail: Meticulous approach to every aspect of engine building, from component machining to final assembly.
A passion for preserving and restoring heritage vehicles with a commitment to authenticity and quality.
Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative restoration team.
Knowledge of modern diagnostic tools and the ability to adapt traditional techniques with new technologies where necessary.
