As an Environmentalist, you will oversee water use licensing and compliance, ensuring adherence to the National Water Act. You will manage water sampling, quality analysis, and reporting, implementing corrective actions when needed. Additionally, you will support the Environmental Risk & Compliance Program, conduct audits, track environmental incidents, and liaise with stakeholders. You'll also drive sustainability initiatives and provide training on environmental best practices across the organization.
Job experience and Skills Required:
- Degree/Diploma in Environmental Science, Water Resource Management, or a related field.
- 3-5 years of experience in water use licensing, environmental compliance, and regulatory engagement within the Agri-processing or related industries.
- In-depth understanding of the National Water Act, Water Use Licenses, and General Authorizations.
- Experience in water sampling, analysis, and interpreting laboratory reports; proficiency in GIS systems and environmental data management.
- Strong verbal and written communication, report writing, and the ability to liaise with regulatory authorities and stakeholders effectively.
