Estate and Trust Administrator - Knysna - Western Cape

JOB DESCRIPTION:

Our client in the financial industry is looking for a Estate and Trust Administrator to join their team. 

Requirements: 
  • Matric Certificate 
  • Relevant tertiary qualification 
  • 3-5 years prior experience with estates and trusts 
  • Patients 
  • Good communication skills
  • Strong admin skills 
Responsibilities: 
  • Drafting wills and assisting the partner with estate planning.
  • Obtaining all the necessary information of the deceased and submitting to the Master for Letters of Executorship.
  • Compiling the Liquidation and Distribution accounts with all supporting documentation. The software used is called Libralex. This will entail correspondence with third-parties in obtaining documentation to support the assets and liabilities disclosed in the Liquidation and Distribution accounts.
  • Working with the Director to attend to the pre-death and post-death tax calculations and submission of the returns.
  • Working with the Director to attend to the Estate Duty calculations and submissions to SARS.
  • Correspondence with SARS to register the Estate for tax and with attending to their queries and or audit of the Estate.
  • Managing the bank account of the Estate and collecting income.
  • Attending to beneficiary queries and payments.
  • Assistance and support for the surviving family.
  • The Director will provide guidance and support for all aspects (working as a team).
  • Assisting the Director to attend to his Trustee duties. This would include maintaining the Trust File, scheduling meetings, taking minutes, attending to resolutions and support for all the activities taking place within the Trust
  • Dealing with fellow Trustees, beneficiaries and Investment companies.
  • Potentially assisting with the rental of properties and collection of rentals.
  • Attending to any new Trust registrations, amendments to Trust Deeds, change in Trustees and/ or beneficiaries. These items need to be submitted and registered with the Master.
  • Managing the bank account of the Trust and making payments when necessary.
  • Working as a team with the Director/s to ensure that the Trust is compliant at all times.
