About the role

The Production Technician & Manufacturing ISO Intern plays a key role in the production line, specializing in the design and
manufacture of Expansion Joints, High-Temperature Seals, and Specialized Rubber Products. This role will training the
individual in learning how to order stock, manufacture to custom order, and becoming an Expansion Joint Specialist.
Additionally, this individual will act as the ISO representative for the factory, ensuring compliance with quality and safety
standards while contributing to process improvements. This role provides hands-on experience in manufacturing, quality
control, and ISO certification management.
Responsibilities:
Production & Manufacturing

• Assist in the design, cutting, assembly, and finishing of Expansion Joints, High-Temperature Seals, and Specialized Rubber Products.
• Operate and maintain production machinery and tools.
• Follow technical drawings and specifications to ensure product accuracy.
• Ensure adherence to manufacturing best practices and safety regulations.
• Conduct quality checks at various production stages to minimize defects.
• Assist with production planning and stock management for raw materials.

• Act as the ISO representative for the factory, ensuring compliance with ISO 9001 and other relevant standards.
• Assist in conducting internal audits and preparing necessary documentation.
• Ensure that production processes align with quality and safety standards.
• Work with the quality team to implement continuous improvement initiatives.
• Assist in maintaining and updating Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).

• Ensure compliance with workplace safety regulations.
• Conduct routine inspections to identify and address safety hazards.
• Maintain records related to safety protocols and incident reports.

• Identify inefficiencies in production and suggest process improvements.
• Support the implementation of lean manufacturing principles.
• Assist in compiling reports on production output, quality metrics, and ISO compliance.

• South African Unemployed youth between the ages of 18 and 34.
• Must not have participated on the programme before.
• Matric
• Post matric qualification in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering or Quality Management
• Basic Computer skills needed including Outlook, Excel, Word
