Experienced Driver (Code 14)

SUMMARY:
Our client is seeking a skilled and responsible Driver with a Code 14 license and a valid PDP (Professional Driving Permit). The role involves transporting goods and personnel safely across domestic and international routes. The ideal candidate must have a valid passport and be willing to undertake cross-border trips, ensuring timely and secure deliveries.

POSITION INFO:

Key Responsibilities:

• Safely operate heavy-duty vehicles (Code 14) while adhering to traffic laws and client policies.
• Transport goods or personnel to various locations, including international destinations as needed.
• Perform pre-trip vehicle inspections to ensure roadworthiness and report any issues to management.
• Complete and maintain accurate logbooks and relevant documentation.
• Coordinate with the client’s logistics team to plan routes and ensure timely deliveries.
• Ensure cargo safety and compliance with all load securing protocols.
• Follow cross-border regulations, handling required documentation for customs and immigration when traveling internationally.
• Assist with loading and unloading of goods when required.
• Monitor and maintain vehicle condition, reporting any mechanical issues.
• Provide professional and courteous service to clients during deliveries.

Requirements:

• Valid Code 14 driver’s license with a clean driving record.
• Valid PDP (Professional Driving Permit).
• Valid passport, with the ability to travel internationally.
• Proven experience in long-distance or cross-border driving.
• Knowledge of cross-border regulations, including documentation requirements.
• Familiarity with logbook maintenance and reporting processes.
• Excellent time management and communication skills.
• Basic mechanical knowledge for handling minor issues on the road.
• Ability to assist with cargo handling when necessary.
• Willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends and overnight trips.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Minimum 3 years of experience driving heavy-duty vehicles.
• Experience in international transportation.
• Proficiency with GPS and modern navigation systems.
