External Sales Representative - Hydraulics Industry

SUMMARY:
This position requires a proven track record of sales success within the Hydraulics Industry.

POSITION INFO:

This well established and Front Runner in the Hydraulics Industry, that specialises in design, manufacturing, installation, repairs, and maintenance would like to appoint an External Sales Representative to join their Sales Team in Cape Town.

Minimum Requirements:

• Grade 12 (Matric/NQF Level 4)
• Valid Drivers License
• Strong communication and presentation skills
• Strong technical aptitude
• Fully Computer literate
• Proven track record in achievement of sales targets
• Minimum of 3 years sales experience within the Hydraulics Industry

Key Performance Areas:

• Establish, develop, and maintain business relationships with current customers and prospective customers in the assigned or designated territory/area to generate new business
• Make telephone calls and in-person visits to existing and prospective customers
• Promote, sell, or secure orders from existing and prospective customers using a relationship-based approach
• Demonstrate products (physically or catalogue) to existing or potential customers and assists them in selecting that best suited to their needs and requirements
• Coordinate, follow-up on sales enquiries with Internal Sales, Marketing, Management and Workshop
• Expedite the resolution of customer problems and complaints
• Develop a call schedule to cover territory/area and provide daily reports on call results
• Supply management with oral and written reports on customer needs, problems, interests, competitive activities and potential for new products and services
• Keep abreast with new products, technology, market conditions and trends, and changing customer needs
• Perform customer analysis (annual turnover), market assessments, pricing strategies, competitor analysis and draw conclusions with data to improve the company’s turnover, strength, and market opportunities
• Participate in trade shows and conventions
• Receive queries and compose a detailed quote for customer either telephonically or written
• Present price, discounts, credit, and terms as per our company specifics
• Provide accurate information regarding availability of in-stock items
• Facilitating the process of an order by preparing a Sales Order
• Increase sales and average order size by means of cross-selling, up-selling, add-on sales and offering promotional or sale items
• Educate customers on terminology, part numbers, features, and product benefits in order to improve sales and customer satisfaction
• Remain up to date on new products and customer preferences by attending internal sales meetings, in-house product training
• Provide reports and planned visits
