SUMMARY:
Extrusion Blow Moulding Setter / Technician

POSITION INFO:

A well known world class packaging manufacturing company is looking an Extrusion blow molding Setter to be responsible for setting up, adjusting, and operating extrusion blow molding machines to produce plastic products like bottles and containers, ensuring consistent quality by monitoring the manufacturing process, performing necessary adjustments, and troubleshooting any malfunctions, while adhering to production specifications and safety protocols.

Key responsibilities:

Machine setup and configuration:
Installing and aligning blow molds on the machine.

Adjusting machine parameters like temperature profiles, pressure settings, and material feed rates based on product requirements.

Setting up auxiliary equipment like air compressors and cooling systems.
Production monitoring and quality control:
Continuously monitoring the blow molding process to identify and address any defects or inconsistencies in the finished product.

Performing quality checks on samples to ensure adherence to specifications regarding size, wall thickness, and appearance.

Making necessary adjustments to machine settings to maintain consistent quality.
Troubleshooting and maintenance:
Identifying and resolving machine malfunctions or operational issues.

Performing routine maintenance tasks like cleaning, lubrication, and minor repairs on the blow molding machine.

Collaborating with maintenance technicians for complex repairs
Material handling:
Loading plastic resin into the extruder hopper

Managing color changes when required
Documentation and reporting:
Maintaining production records, including machine settings, material usage, and quality inspection data

Reporting any production issues or quality concerns to supervisors

Required skills and qualifications:

Technical knowledge:

Thorough understanding of the extrusion blow molding process, including principles of plastic material flow, mold design, and machine operation.
Mechanical aptitude:

Ability to troubleshoot mechanical issues, read blueprints, and perform basic machine maintenance
Quality focus:

Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining product quality standards
Problem-solving skills:

Ability to analyze issues, identify root causes, and implement solutions effectively
Physical ability:

Ability to lift and handle materials, work in a standing position for extended periods, and perform repetitive tasks
