FABRICATION WORKSHOP MANAGER - WEST RAND (3862)

Qualifications:

• ·         Grade 12/ equivalent
• ·         A qualified and trade tested as a Red Seal Boilermaker

Experience and Requirements:

• Minimum of 15 years’ post trade experience in PLATE steel fabrication as a Workshop Manager
• 5 years’ experience managing a fabrication workshop with a minimum of 50 staff members
• A proven track record of producing high quality stainless steel and carbon steel light to heavy fabricated components and equipment

• Of sober habits
• Own vehicle
• Reside in or around Roodepoort  
• A stable work record and contactable references
• Bilingual in English and Afrikaans

• Able to work under pressure and meet deadlines
• Must be able to pay attention to detail
• Able to run the fabrication site effectively
• Able to function effectively in a team-oriented environment
• Demonstrate ability to effectively identify, communicate and solve problems
• Have strong leadership and management skills
• Sound knowledge of ASME, EN and AWS manufacturing codes
• Able read and interpret technical drawings
• Understand ISO quality systems
• Proficiency in Word, Excel, Outlook
• Strong organizational skills with ability to plan and execute daily activities

 Duties and responsibilities:

• Planning
• Assigning, and directing work
• Ensure compliance with safety procedures and quality standards
• Co-ordinate sub-contractors involved in the assembly stages
• Searches for the most efficient technical solutions
• Provides quantitative data for producing the progress reports
