FINANCE CONTROLLER / ACCOUNTANT - (8 month contract)

SUMMARY:
Seeking a Finance Controller in the Sandton area to undertake all aspects of the financial management, including corporate accounting, regulatory and financial reporting, budget and forecasts preparation as well as development of internal control policies and procedures for the contract period.

POSITION INFO:

Key Responsibilities:

• · Manage all accounting operations including Billing, A/R, A/P, GL and Counsel, Cost Accounting, Inventory Accounting and Revenue Recognition.
• · Coordinate and direct with current FM the preparation of the budget and financial forecasts and report variances.
• · Prepare and publish timely monthly financial statements.
• · Coordinate the preparation of regulatory reporting.
• · Research technical accounting issues for compliance.
• · Ensure compliance with group accounting policies.
• · Support month-end and year-end close process.
• · Ensure quality control over financial transactions and financial reporting
• · Manage and comply with local, state, and government reporting requirements and tax filings.
• · Develop and document business processes and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal controls.
• · On Time Reporting of Information as Required by Management.
• · Coordinate the year end Audit.
• · Provide management with all necessary Information used for Strategic decision making.

Skills Required:

• Computer/Software skills - · Excel · Word · Email · Power Point · Sage Evolution or similar
• Min of 3 years in a similar role
• Financial / Accounting qualification would be an advantage
• Attention to details
• Strong communication skills – excellent grammar and command of the English language
• Stable track record
