BASIC JOB DESCRIPTION:The Field Guide is required to guide guests, by vehicle, providing a holistic safari experience.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
- Forming part of the guest experience by taking guests on game drives, as per the experience and protocols of the Company
- Assisting guests with understanding the collective experience that Gondwana Lodges offers
- Assisting with other related field guide responsibilities, such as take responsibilities of assigned game viewer, equipment for game drives, keeping both vehicle and equipment in good order and cleanliness
- Assisting with responsibilities such as greeting of guests, introducing them to staff and accommodation and assisting with transporting or walking of guests, safely, to their accommodation when required.
- Assist with other tasks as needed.
REQUIREMENTS, QUALIFICATIONS & EXPECTATIONS:- Must have successfully completed Grade 12
- Minimum 2 years’ experience as a Field Guide
- FGASA Level 1 or CATHSSETA equivalent
- FGASA Backup Trails qualification will be beneficial
- Higher PDP permit
- DEAT/THETA Registered
- Valid First Aid Certificate will be beneficial
- Safari Game Reserve experience
- Extensive conservational knowledge background
- Excellent communication skills in English
- Must have a positive attitude and great interpersonal skills
- Must be able to work in a team and collaborate
- Excellent time management skills
- Great work ethic
