SUMMARY:
Are you a detail-oriented financial professional with strong bookkeeping and payroll expertise? My client, a trusted name in the mechanical engineering industry, specializing in mining equipment solutions, is looking for a Finance & Payroll Specialist to support their growing business operations.

POSITION INFO:
This role is ideal for someone with a strong accounting background, expertise in payroll processing, and hands-on experience with Pastel Accounting (Sage 50). You will be responsible for ensuring accurate financial records, payroll compliance, and seamless reporting while working in a dynamic and technical environment.

Key Responsibilities:

Financial Management:

Manage debtors, creditors, petty cash, and bank reconciliations using Pastel.
Process invoices, reconcile accounts, and allocate transactions to the general ledger.
Prepare and maintain trial balances, income statements, and VAT reconciliations.
Assist in budgeting and financial forecasting to support company growth.
Compile financial data for BBBEE verification agencies and auditors.

Payroll Administration:

Process monthly payroll accurately using payroll software (mandatory).
Ensure compliance with tax regulations, UIF, PAYE, and statutory deductions.
Maintain payroll records and handle employee payroll-related queries.
Generate detailed payroll reports for management and audits.

Compliance & Reporting:

Ensure financial transactions and payroll comply with industry and company policies.
Assist with financial audits by preparing necessary documentation.
Provide insights through financial analysis and cost control reports.

What We’re Looking For:

Education: Minimum National Diploma in Finance, Accounting, or a related field (Degree preferred).
Experience: 5-6 years in bookkeeping and payroll administration.
Technical Skills:
- Proficiency in Pastel Accounting (Sage 50).
- Payroll software experience is a must.
- Exposure to ERP systems such as QuickEasy (advantageous).
- Strong Excel skills for reporting and reconciliations.
