Finance Assistant

SUMMARY:
Looking for an experienced Bookkeeper for one of my international financial services clients in the eastern suburbs of Johannesburg.

POSITION INFO:
Our client is a globally recognized financial services company specializing in commercial and personal/home insurance. With over 30 years in operation, they have built a strong reputation for delivering reliable and comprehensive insurance solutions.

They are looking for an experienced bookkeeping professional to manage the full bookkeeping function, including balance sheet and trial balance responsibilities. The successful candidate will also serve as the second-in-command (2IC) to the Assistant Financial Manager, playing a key role in financial operations and reporting. 

Job Experience & Skills Required:

• Minimum 3 years’ experience – in a similar role – preferably in the financial services environment
• Experience on Pastel Evolution – preferred!

• Must have Matric – Non-negotiable
• Must have a post-Matric qualification in Finance/Accounting

• Debtors full function i.e. Recons, processing invoices, problem solving
• Creditors full function i.e. Recons, processing invoices, problem solving
• Banking – Capturing, reconciling and allocations
• Complete function up to balance sheet and trail balance
• VAT recons and submissions
• PAYE submissions
• Management accounts
• Reconciling general ledger accounts
• Reporting on cash flow requirements
