Finance Assistant

POSITION INFO:

Our client based in Mount Edgecombe is seeking an experienced finance assistant to join their growing team.

Responsibilities:

Debtors Management:

• Send monthly statements to customers
• Reconcile customer accounts to ensure accuracy
• Handle customer queries regarding payments promptly and professionally
• Follow up on overdue payments and escalate as necessary.

Creditors Management:

• Perform monthly reconciliations of supplier accounts
• Accurately capture supplier invoices on SAGE software
• Ensure timely and accurate processing of payments to suppliers.

Forex Management:

• Assist with tasks involving foreign currency transactions and conversions.

Administrative Support:

• Draft professional letters, memos, and other correspondence as needed.
• Maintain organized filing systems for finance-related documents.
• Perform general administrative duties to support the finance department.

Required Skills and Competencies:

• Proficient in using SAGE accounting software.
• Strong knowledge of debtors and creditors processes.
• Familiarity with forex transactions and associated regulations.
• Excellent organizational and multitasking skills.
• Strong problem-solving abilities and a proactive mindset.
• Ability to think quickly and make sound decisions.
• Effective communication skills, both written and verbal 

Minimum Qualifications:

• A relevant qualification in Finance, Accounting, or a related field (preferred).
• At least 1-2 years of experience in a similar role.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook).
