Finance Officer

SUMMARY:
A leading public school, located in Centurion, is seeking a FINANCE OFFICER for a 3-month temporary contract. The successful candidate will play a key role in managing the school’s financial operations, ensuring efficient financial processes, and supporting the administration during this period. Immediate availability is required.

POSITION INFO:
Qualifications and Requirements:

• Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• Proven experience in financial management, ideally within an educational institution.
• Minimum of 5 years' experience with accounting principles and practices.
• Knowledge of GAAP is a plus.
• Strong proficiency in financial software and Microsoft Office Suite.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
• High level of integrity, discretion, and confidentiality.
• Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• Fluent in English and at least one additional language.

• Financial Management: Oversee all financial operations, including budgeting, forecasting, cash flow management, and financial reporting. Ensure adherence to relevant regulations and policies.
• Accounts Payable and Receivable: Manage accounts payable functions, including vendor payments, invoicing, and reconciliations. Monitor accounts receivable and follow up on outstanding payments.
• Payroll Administration: Coordinate payroll processing, ensuring accuracy in salary calculations, deductions, and statutory contributions. Ensure timely and precise payroll payments.
• Procurement: Oversee the procurement process, including sourcing suppliers, negotiating contracts, and purchasing goods and services in line with school policies and procedures.
• Financial Reporting: Prepare financial reports and statements for internal and external stakeholders, including the school management team, board of governors, and regulatory bodies.
• Auditing and Compliance: Coordinate internal and external audits, ensuring compliance with accounting standards and regulatory requirements. Implement any necessary improvements based on audit recommendations.
• Asset Management: Manage the school's fixed asset register, including the acquisition, depreciation, and disposal of assets. Conduct periodic asset audits to maintain accuracy and compliance.
