Financial Accountant

SUMMARY:
We are seeking a Financial Accountant to generate precise financial reports and ensure the timely submission of statutory and tax requirements for our operating entities. In this role, you will collaborate with the accounts team, payroll, and other internal departments while liaising with external consultants and tax authorities across various regions. Reporting to the Senior Financial Accountant, you will play a key role in maximizing the impact of Finance within the organization. APPLY TODAY!

POSITION INFO:
Ensure accuracy and completeness of all general ledger transactions for entities under your remit
Oversee and review bank reconciliations prepared by bookkeepers
Prepare month-end financial packs and balance sheet reconciliations for Senior Financial Accountant review. Prepare accurate journals and monthly reconciliations with third-party pay-in and pay-out partners
Collect and analyse financial data, ensuring accuracy and up-to-date information on sales revenues, liabilities, and key performance indicators
Prepare and file statutory or regulatory returns according to deadlines
Assist the Group Tax team with timely and accurate tax submissions and ensure tax compliance
Assist in the delivery of year-end audit and draft statutory financial statements for review
Contribute to business improvement projects, including system implementations and process efficiencies
Collaborate with senior managers, finance teams, auditors, tax professionals, and other stakeholders to align financial strategies with business objectives
Provide internal support to other departments to resolve commercial issues
 
Skills & Experience:
Proven work experience as a Financial Accountant or completed articles (2-3 years)
Experience with multi-national group structures, preferably across Africa and/or the UK (2-3 years)
Finance business systems experience across ERP platforms, preferably NetSuite (2-3 years)
Experience in preparing VAT and Corporate tax returns in conjunction with the internal Tax function (preferable) (2-3 years)
Experience working in financial services or highly regulated industries (preferable) (2-3 years)
Experience in high growth/fast-moving organizations (preferable) (2-3 years)
Advanced time management and organizational skills (essential)
Strong understanding of financial principles and concepts (advanced)
Proficiency in accounting software and MS Office (especially MS Excel) (advanced)
 
Qualification:
Bachelor's degree or Advanced Diploma in Accounting, or a related field (essential)
Currently studying towards CA (SA), CIMA, or SAIPA qualification (preferably)
