Financial Manager

SUMMARY:
We require an experienced Finance Manager for an export company in JHB North. You will stand in when the Directors are not available.

POSITION INFO:
Minimum Requirements:

1. Grade 12
2. BCom Accounting/Finance Degree with Articles or Qualified CA(SA)
3. At least 7 years of experience in a senior Finance position
4. Agricultural or fruit industry experience preferred
5. Knowledge of Forex transactions
6. Ability to lead and manage the office and stand in when Directors are unavailable

• Develop and implement the company's financial strategy, aligning with overall business objectives.
• Prepare annual budgets, forecasts, and long-term financial plans.
• Conduct financial analysis, including variance analysis, profitability analysis, and cash flow forecasting.
• Provide financial insights and recommendations to the executive team to support strategic decision-making.
• Monitor and analyze industry trends and competitor performance to identify opportunities and risks.
• Oversee the development and implementation of financial policies and procedures.
• Oversee the preparation and timely submission of accurate financial reports (monthly, quarterly, annual).
• Ensure compliance with all relevant accounting standards (IFRS) and tax regulations in South Africa.
• Manage the annual audit process and liaise with external auditors.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records.
• Manage tax planning and compliance, including VAT, corporate tax, and other relevant taxes.
• Stay informed about changes in financial regulations and ensure compliance
• Oversee all financial operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, treasury, and payroll.
• Implement and maintain strong internal controls to safeguard company assets.
• Manage cash flow effectively, including optimizing working capital and managing foreign exchange risk (crucial for exports).
• Negotiate and manage banking relationships and credit facilities.
• Oversee the company's insurance policies.
• Implement and manage financial software and systems
• Manage foreign currency transactions and hedging strategies to mitigate exchange rate fluctuations.
• Manage relationships with fruit growers/suppliers regarding payments and financial arrangements
• Lead and manage the finance team, including performance management, training, and development.
• Foster a positive and productive work environment within the finance department.
• Delegate tasks effectively and provide guidance and support to team members
