SUMMARY:

We are seeking a Trade Tested Fitter & Turner for a permanent vacancy based in East London, Eastern Cape

JOB DESCRIPTION:

Applicants are required to meet the following criteria:

Trade Tested Fitter & Turner with 8 – 10 years post qualification experience
Minimum of 6 years in a machining / production environment
Exposure to automotive manufacturing industry preferred

The successful applicant would be responsible for, but not limited to:

Be responsible for all general work in the workshop and for the manufacture of spares that are not available
Required to action machine breakdowns and general maintenance in the factory
Ensure that all planned maintenance is carried out timeously as per the schedule and report any concerns to management
Train apprentices, and other factory workers
Ensure good housekeeping
Fabricate/repair all engineering where required
Report on levels of non-stock items in the maintenance department to the relevant manager, obtain quotes and follow correct procedure for the replenishment of such items
Complete and record all work tasks done on issued job cards in the Maintenance Management system
Daily visual inspections of all plant machinery
Ensure good care for hand tools and equipment necessary to perform various repair tasks
Ensure the Health and Safety programs are adhered to at all times

Salary: R28 000.00 per month CTC
