Fitter and Turner

We are looking for an experienced Fitter and Turner for a well-established Manufacturing company in the East London area. Must have a minimum of 7 years fitting and machining experience(after red seal qualification) in a manufacturing environment

Responsibilities

• Perform regular production line inspections and follow up with maintenance as required
• Upgrading and renovation as well as maintenance of the plants regular equipment
• Responsible for the maintenance and repair of specialised/unique plant equipment
• Fault finding on both hydraulic and pneumatic systems/equipment
• Responsible for breakdowns and maintenance on all of the plant equipment
• Turning and machining work as required for the efficient maintenance and running of the manufacturing equipment
• Reporting of faults and possible recommendations to prevent future issues/breakdowns
• Responsible for recognised plant shutdown work
• Ensure adherence to all plant safety as well as OHASA standards
• Maintain good housekeeping in workshop and manufacturing environment with respect to all work performed

Requirements:

• N3/Matric/Grade 12
• Red Seal qualified Fitter and Turner
• MUST have 7 years fitting and machining experience in a manufacturing factory environment – this is NON-Negotiable
• Hydraulic and Pneumatic fault finding and equipment experience
• Basic welding experience would be beneficial
• Ability to work with people and staff at all levels within a company
• Ability to work and think independently
• Must be able to work standby/overtime/shift as required by the plant operations
• MUST stay in East London area OR relocate permanently to East London

• Salary is dependent on relevant operational experience and skill set
