A well-known Software House in Glasgow City Centre is looking for a Front End Angular Developer to join their team. The company are considered market leaders within their field and with their continued success, they're looking to bring in more Developers to the team.
This is a chance to join them when there are exciting projects on the horizon as the company continues to grow.
What will I be doing?
Good question!
Their software underpins the entire business, so as you can imagine, their tech team is pretty important.
As a Front End Developer, you will focus on adding new features to the existing product, making improvements all the time! It'll be your job to ensure that the software looks and feels beautiful to their consumers.
From a purely tech stack point of view, they are currently using JavaScript with AngularJS. They have plans to migrate to a modern version of Angular where you'll have the opportunity to work with TypeScript too! They're ideally looking for someone that has AngularJS skills but if they can't find that then they may be open to seeing people with commercial experience with any of the Front End JavaScript frameworks, such as React or Vue. Someone with experience in Angular will obviously stand out.
With no out-and-out designers in the team, it'll be a big advantage if you have experience with Adobe Creative Suite. This isn't a requirement and you won't spend your time designing all day but, in situations where the team needs someone to look at things in a different perspective - this is where you'll really stand out!
Who am I?
Ideally, you'll have commercial experience working in Front End positions using Angular, React or Vue. As I've previously mentioned, someone with commercial experience with Angular will stand out as you'd be able to hit the ground running! If you've got experience working in cloud environments, then that's a big bonus too.
Don't worry, this isn't one of those organisations who wants a ninja, superstar, superhero … just someone as I mentioned above that is fanatical about their craft. They also don't care if you are self-taught, have a degree, worked as a Scientist or a pro sportsperson in a previous life. They know good developers come from all sorts of different backgrounds.
Who will I be working with?
A collaborative and driven team!
The technical team is split into a Front End team and a Back End team but the teams still works very closely together. You will work more closely with the Front End team obviously but will still have the opportunity to collaborate with the Back End specialists as well!
The company are massive on people's work-life balance and offer a 4-day working week meaning you can have a Monday or Friday off every week - how good is that?! They also have monthly social events where you can get lots of free pizza and drinks. On top of that, they have a couple of company parties every year which I'm told are always a lot of fun!
Where are the benefits and where will I be based?
The company have set a benchmark of £40,000 for the role but could possibly go above this for the perfect Developer. On top of this, you'll only be working 4 days per week so will have lots of spare time to work on personal projects or get up to whatever you want! They've got very flexible working as well - you can pick and choose when you want to come and go, as long as you're there within their core hours (10am - 3.30pm).
They're all obviously working from home just now and are in no rush to get back into the office. When things do go back to normal, they will be adopting a flexible approach so out of the 4 days that you work, you'll be able to work a couple from home.
Their offices are located in Glasgow City Centre and are very easy to get to when they eventually do get back!
