SUMMARY:
A non- profit organization based in Pretoria focused on improving lives and enabling engagement and education to residents in South Africa is currently in search for a Fundraiser Officer to plan and organize fundraising initiatives and activities and identify new grant opportunities.

JOB DESCRIPTION:

Responsibilities:

Manage and build relationship with portfolio donors
Provide regular reports on progress towards funding goals
Implement and evaluate fundraising strategies
Create new initiatives and campaigns for fundraising
Manage grant writing and identification of new grant opportunities.
Maintain the fundraising database and documents
Implement and execute an annual fundraising plan to meet fundraising goals.
Manage grant writing and identification of new grant opportunities.
Maintain the fundraising database and documents
Complete reporting requirements for foundations and grants.
Manage the South African. individual fundraising drives.
Work closely with the program team and the board of directors on organizing and planning special events and receiving donations.
Create digital, print and social media content
Generate donor communications, newsletters, and annual reports.
Assist in the creation of print, digital and social media content.
Network and maintain regular correspondence with donors
Maintain and update budgets, revenue generation and fundraising activities

Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree and Master’s degree (a plus)
5 + years fundraising or non-profit experience (5+ years preferred)
Proven track record of meeting fundraising goals and securing major gifts
Applied understanding of fundraising principles and development best practices.
Experience working within Corporate Social Investment context
Knowledge or experience of donor/funder segments: corporate, government, foundations, and individual giving.
Budget, forecasting, and financial understanding are essential
Ability to engage with multi-level stakeholders – executives, academics, donors and external partners.
Previous experience in fundraising is essential, including grants and donor funding.
Must have a valid driver’s licence and be willing to travel
