GROUP HARDWARE BUYER – GERMISTON (4745)

SUMMARY:
Our client a national steel and hardware retailer, requires an experienced buyer to purchase hardware products. The ideal candidate must have experience buying for 10 or more branches.

POSITION INFO:

EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

• A minimum of 5 years’ experience as a Group Buyer.
• Experienced in buying of Welding & Grinding equipment and accessories, Gate Motors, Industrial Fasteners, Industrial Paints, Locks and Tools and related accessories.
• Advanced Excel computer skills are required and knowledge of Syspro would be advantageous.
• Existing relationships with local suppliers and manufacturers.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Continuous review of all group hardware products stock levels and replenishment needs.
• Review product specifications and align to group and market requirements.
• Identify and suggest new / alternative products.
• Ensure correct Syspro hardware product descriptions and product grouping etc.
• Identify and continuous review of local suppliers.
• Relationship building with suppliers.
• Forward planning with branch involvement and order placement of products ordered on group basis in line with approved stockholding limits.
• Maximise price, credit terms and logistic costs.
• Track both local and international pricing trends and review impact on current stock cost, orders placed and   price lists.
• Monthly review of group/branches stock levels in line with agreed stock levels and realign where necessary.
• Monthly review of group/branches excess, slow moving, redundant and obsolete stock.
• Assist individual branches at supplier level with large enquiries.
