Purpose of the Job:
The primary responsibility of the General Manager providing Senior oversight to Financial Management, Operational Management and Escalations, Compliance, Corporate Governance, Department Process Management, Administration, Business Unit Strategy, New Business Development, Marketing and Human Resource optimization. The General Manager will report to the Operations Director and serve as a member of the Senior Management Team.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Financial Management
• Client Financial Management
• Check, approval, sign off of requisitions and final banking release for all client's supplier payment requisitions
• Check, supply amendments and final approval of all client's monthly financial management reports. Ensure accurate bookkeeping, profitability and Balance Sheet Management in accordance with Budget and Forecasts
• Compilation/Assistance/Oversight of Annual Budgets for Client Approval
• Facilitation and final check for all client's Annual Financial Statements (Annual Audits)
• Ensure Financial System (SAP) data accuracy
• Financial Management
• Client Financial Management
• Check, approval, sign off of requisitions and final banking release for all client's supplier payment requisitions
• Check, supply amendments and final approval of all client's monthly financial management reports. Ensure accurate bookkeeping, profitability and Balance Sheet Management in accordance with Budget and Forecasts
• Compilation/Assistance/Oversight of Annual Budgets for Client Approval

• Ensure Financial System (SAP) data accuracy
Business Unit Finance Management
• Oversight of Business Unit Financials to ensure compliance, accuracy and profitability
• Input towards business unit annual budgets in conjunction with Managing Director and CFO
• Preparation of annual staff increases and bonuses for submission to Managing Director
Process Management
• Ensure correct finance procedures are adhered to for compliance to auditing, reporting and fidelity fund insurance standards
• Compliance with Section 21 Companies Act timelines as part of Corporate Governance
• Maintain acceptable timelines in repairs, maintenance schedules and municipal infrastructure issues
• Correct processing of service delivery escalations in line with SLA and breach conditions
• Legal proceedings where necessary on behalf of the client
• Attend of all Client Meetings, Board Meetings, Annual General Meetings
Strategic Oversight
• New business acquisition: Identification, Proposals and Development
• Draft of formal and informal business communication to Clients, Tenants and Landlords
• Contract Schedule, Renewal, Escalation and Dispute Management
• Contribute towards overall Business Strategy and Competitiveness in conjunction with Executive
• Assist in Marketing of business where necessary. Including interviews and articles for publications
• Ensure proper use and compliance of Corporate Identity
• Attend property related functions where the business requires
• Human Resource Oversight
• Oversight and approval of staff leave schedule
• Compile of HR documentation where applicable such as changes of salaries or positions
• Runn of weekly staff meetings
• Facilitate of annual performance reviews
• Hire, Interviews
• Approval of monthly payroll schedule
• Oversight of Business Unit Financials to ensure compliance, accuracy and profitability
• Input towards business unit annual budgets in conjunction with Managing Director and CFO
• Preparation of annual staff increases and bonuses for submission to Managing Director
Process Management
