Our client in the Petrochemical industry is seeking to employ a General Worker to join their team. Please note that this is a (fixed term contract).

Duties & Responsibilities
Primary Roles:
Support Operations:
Assist skilled workers, technicians, and engineers in daily operations to ensure smooth production processes.

Maintenance Assistance:
Participate in routine and emergency maintenance tasks under supervision.

Safety and Compliance:
Adhere to industry safety standards and protocols to maintain a safe working environment.

General Labor:
Perform physical tasks such as material handling, cleaning, and equipment setup.

Responsibilities:
Operational Support

• Aid in loading and unloading raw materials and finished products.
• Handle equipment and tools necessary for production or maintenance tasks.
• Monitor and report any irregularities in the operational workflow.

• Assist in assembling and disassembling machinery.
• Support skilled workers during inspections and repairs of equipment.
• Ensure that tools and machinery are properly cleaned, stored, and maintained.

• Always wear and maintain personal protective equipment (PPE).

• Follow all safety procedures, including hazard identification and emergency response protocols.
• Dispose of waste materials according to environmental regulations and company policies.
• Participate in regular safety training sessions and drills.

• Keep work areas clean and organized to prevent accidents and ensure operational efficiency.
• Ensure that pathways and emergency exits are free from obstructions.
• Perform general cleaning tasks, including equipment and facility maintenance.

• Report unsafe conditions, equipment malfunctions, or process deviations immediately to supervisors.
• Maintain clear communication with team members to ensure coordinated efforts.
• Document daily tasks and provide feedback for process improvements.

• Be available for shift work, including nights and weekends, as required by the operation.
• Perform other duties as assigned by supervisors or management.
• Demonstrate willingness to learn new skills and adapt to changing tasks.

• Physical stamina and the ability to work in harsh environments.
• Basic understanding of petrochemical operations and machinery.
• Strong commitment to safety and attention to detail.
• Teamwork and effective communication skills.

• 3 to 5 years’ experience.
• National Senior Certificate.
