Group ESG/ESMS Officer - Remote

SUMMARY:
DBN000017 – GROUP ESG/ESMS OFFICER –  AGRICULTURE - GAUTENG ROAMING

Purpose of the Job:
To manage risks and integrate environmental & social considerations into business operations.
 

Required Qualifications

1. Bachelor’s Degree in Environmental Science, Sustainability, Business Administration, or related fields.
2. Certifications in ESG/ESMS are a plus.
3. 3-5 years in ESG/ESMS or sustainability roles, preferably in agriculture or resource management.
4. ESG/ESMS frameworks (e.g., GRI, SASB, TCFD)
5. Willingness to travel to remote African locations

POSITION INFO:
Technical Competencies & Experience:

1. Strategic Planning and Execution
2. Create and implement ESG/ESMS frameworks, policies, and strategies in line with business objectives.
3. To find opportunities, hazards, and key performance indicators, conduct evaluations.
4. Track and report on ESG/ESMS performance while making sure that GRI, SASB, TCFD, and other standards are followed.
5. Modify ESMS frameworks for implementation, collaborate with consultants.
6. Guarantee alignment with sustainability objectives, give employees and new hires ESG training.
7. Assess environmental practices and guarantee compliance, conduct site visits four to six times a year.
8. Take on due diligence tasks pertaining to target investments that involve ESG considerations.
9. Engage local communities in ESG/ESMS initiatives, such as collaborations, workshops, and cleanups.
10. Take the lead in projects that promote risk reduction strategies and address community issues.
11. Encourage sustainability initiatives (such as community involvement, energy efficiency, and trash reduction).
