Group Finance & Accounting Manager

SUMMARY:
Are you a strategic finance professional with a hands-on approach to operational accounting? We are seeking a Group Finance & Accounting Manager to lead the centralized finance function for group of five companies.

POSITION INFO:

This role is critical in ensuring accurate financial reporting, effective internal controls, and financial strategy alignment across the group.

As a key member of the leadership team, you will manage the operational accounting, budgeting, and compliance functions while optimizing financial processes to support our continued growth. 

Location: Roodepoort 

Key Responsibilities

Operational Accounting & Compliance

• Oversee daily accounting operations including AP, AR, payroll, and fixed assets

• Ensure entity-specific and consolidated financial reporting accuracy

• Maintain strong internal controls, including asset tracking for loaned equipment

• Ensure compliance with IFRS, tax regulations, and company financial policies

Financial Management & Team Leadership

• Lead and develop finance teams across five companies

• Standardize financial procedures and processes

• Oversee audits, tax filings, and compliance matters

• Manage cash flow, working capital, and debtors effectively

Financial Planning & Strategic Support

• Prepare monthly management accounts, budgets, forecasts, and variance reports

• Provide financial insight to support pricing, cost control, and capital investments

• Identify financial risks and opportunities, enhancing profitability

• Support the CFO with strategic financial planning and business expansion

Asset Control & Equipment Loan Management

• Ensure accurate tracking and financial control of loaned equipment under supply agreements

• Collaborate with legal and sales teams to support contract structuring

• Monitor depreciation and asset utilization

Qualifications & Skills

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field (CA(SA), CIMA preferred)

• 7+ years of experience in accounting/finance, including 3+ years in a managerial role

• Industry experience in manufacturing, food processing, or chemicals is a strong advantage

• Strong knowledge of cost accounting, capital asset tracking, and IFRS compliance

• Proficiency in ERP systems (preferably Business Central 365, SAP, or Sage) and advanced Excel skills

• Analytical mindset, strong leadership, and excellent communication skills

Reporting Structure

• Reports to: CFO / Group Financial Director

• Manages: Centralized finance and accounting team across five group entities
