Supervising the responsibilities of assigned team members during the absence of the consultant

KEY OUTPUTS:
- Supervising the responsibilities of assigned team members during the absence of the consultant due to sickness, annual leave, or educational purposes. This entails assuming full management of the consultant's workload, including handling re-quotes, ongoing proposals, operations management and any other related tasks
- Assisting and developing agent and hosted educational bookings; working closely with the Sales team to ensure these trips are seamless
- Involvement in implementation of systems and procedures and assisting with testing of systems
- Stepping in to chase provisional bookings for all the relevant team
- During the quiet periods, following up on any dead leads
- Assisting in loading of bookings for consultants during peak booking period
- Assisting with Small Group Journeys
- Assisting with the procurement of new suppliers and products to enrich the offerings and creativity of the Groups department
- May be required to occasionally travel with groups, to assist with operations
KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED:
- In-depth knowledge of the tourism industry, including travel industry channels, current trends, destination management, and customer expectations
- Good understanding of terms and conditions, markets in which andBeyond operates in, product knowledge, third party and andBeyond Product destinations
- Relevant understanding of Business to create and formulate a strategy and make commercial decisions.
- A passion for delivering service excellence
- A good knowledge of South Africa, Southern and East Africa with the ability to provide recommendations and assistance preferable
- Basic knowledge of crisis management protocols and procedures, including emergency response and risk mitigation strategies.
SKILLS REQUIRED:
- Meticulous attention to details to ensure accuracy and precision in all aspects of work, from itinerary planning to documentation and communication with clients and stakeholders.
- Strong organizational skills to manage multiple tasks, deadlines, and priorities efficiently, ensuring smooth operations and timely delivery of services.
- Eagerness to take initiative, anticipate challenges, and actively seek solutions to potential issues before they escalate.
- Strong analytical skills combined with a creative mindset to effectively identify, analyse, and resolve complex problems that may arise during relief assignments.
- Willingness to collaborate and coordinate with team members, partners, and stakeholders to achieve common goals, fostering a positive and supportive work environment.
- An in-depth knowledge of Tourplan, Wetu and all Microsoft systems such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook advantageous

PREVIOUS WORK EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
- Minimum of 3 – 5 years previous inbound tour consulting experience required.
