HR and Payroll Officer

POSITION INFO:
My client is seeking a highly motivated and experienced HR and Payroll Officer to join their dynamic team. T
he ideal candidate will be responsible for managing a broad range of HR functions, including payroll administration, ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of the HR department.

This role is based in Milnerton, Cape Town Northern Suburbs.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage the full recruitment cycle, from job postings to onboarding and offboarding.
• Draft and manage administrative documents such as appointment and promotion letters.
• Champion employee wellness initiatives and support wellness programs.
• Conduct induction programs and policy workshops for new hires.
• Educate and administer employee benefits, including benefit structures.
• Oversee performance management processes, including training and development.
• Assist in the development and documentation of HR policies.
• Compile and submit Employment Equity Plans and reports.
• Administer the leave module and maintain the People ESS system.
• Provide HR reporting, including the collation of monthly and quarterly statistics.
• Consult with employees on HR and IR-related queries and concerns.
• Lead HR projects and research as required, ensuring regulatory compliance.
• Develop and deliver regular training on HR policies and procedures.
• Coordinate Corporate Social Investment (CSI) initiatives in line with BEE and GM requirements.
• Manage payroll processes, including capturing, updating, and reconciling payroll data.
• Ensure accuracy in payroll calculations, deductions, and employee payments.
• Handle payroll queries from employees and resolve issues promptly.
• Collaborate with finance for payroll-related matters and ensure compliance with tax regulations.

• Diploma/Degree in Human Resource Management
• Proven experience in a similar HR role, with exposure to payroll functions.
• Knowledge on SAGE/ESS would be advantageous.
• Strong understanding of HR and payroll processes and legislation.
• Excellent communication and organizational skills.
• Ability to handle multiple tasks and work under pressure.
