Key Responsibilities:

• Install, maintain, and repair HVAC systems, including refrigeration units, air conditioning systems, ventilation, and extraction systems in an abattoir environment.
• Conduct regular inspections and preventative maintenance to ensure systems operate efficiently and safely.
• Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical and electrical faults in HVAC systems.
• Monitor and adjust temperature controls to comply with meat storage and processing standards.
• Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, repairs, and part replacements.
• Ensure compliance with industry regulations and health and safety standards.
• Collaborate with the maintenance team to address facility-wide issues.

Requirements:

• Trade Certification in HVAC, Refrigeration, or Air Conditioning.
• Minimum 3-5 years of experience as an HVAC Technician, preferably in an industrial or abattoir setting.
• Strong knowledge of refrigeration systems, cooling towers, and ventilation systems.
• Proficiency in diagnosing and repairing mechanical and electrical issues.
• Understanding of regulatory requirements for temperature control in meat processing facilities.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Physical ability to handle equipment and work in varying temperatures.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to respond to after-hours emergencies if required.
