An opportunity for an experienced Head Bakery Confectioner is required for permanent employment based in Newcastle.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Oversee and manage daily bakery operations within a supermarket environment.
- Ensure high-quality production of bakery and confectionery products, including cakes, pastries, bread, chocolate éclairs, and specialty baked goods.
- Develop and maintain recipes and ensure consistency in product quality.
- Monitor ingredient stock levels, procurement, and supplier relations.
- Lead and supervise a team of bakers and assistants, providing training and guidance.
- Ensure compliance with hygiene, safety, and quality standards.
- Innovate and introduce new bakery items to attract customers.
- Maintain customer satisfaction by ensuring excellent service and fresh products daily.
EDUCATION, QUALIFICATION, EXPERIENCE & SKILLS:
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience as a Bakery Confectioner in a supermarket bakery environment.
- Formal baking or pastry qualification will be an advantage.
- Strong knowledge of baking techniques, ingredients, and recipe development.
- Experience in supervising and managing a bakery team.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet daily production targets. (Retail hours)
- Excellent knowledge of food safety, hygiene, and quality control standards.
- Newcastle residency required.
