Head Sommelier | Dubai | Busy Upmarket Restaurant
We are looking for experienced HEAD SOMMELIER to manage a team of Sommeliers at a well-known, upmarket restaurant located in Dubai. The restaurant has been voted in top 10 best restaurants in Dubai few times now.
The restaurant offers a wide selection of worldwide wines.
Main duties:
- Create and update the wine list in coordination with chefs and the Food and Beverage Manager
- Make sure that all Sommeliers and Waiters are trained to the restaurant’s standards
- Recommend food and wine pairings
- Advise guests on wines based on their personal tastes and food choices
- Inform guests about different varieties of wines and prices
- Ensure wines are served at the right temperature and within the proper glassware
- Store open bottles properly to maintain strong taste
- Manage wine cellar and ensure it’s fully-stocked
- Train wait staff on available wines
Main skills and qualifications required:
- Professional Sommelier qualification
- Previous experience of at least 5 years of working in high end, high-volume restaurant OR luxury hotel in the same capacity
- Excellent knowledge of wines from all over the world
- Fluent English
- Additional languages will be an advantage
- Excellent communication skills
