Health & Safety Manager

SUMMARY:
Our client, a well-established construction and property development company, is seeking a Health & Safety Manager to join their team. This is an excellent opportunity for a seasoned professional to take on a key role in ensuring the health, safety, and well-being of employees, contractors, and visitors across multiple job sites. You will be responsible for developing and implementing safety policies, conducting risk assessments, and ensuring regulatory compliance throughout the organization.

POSITION INFO:

Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement health and safety policies, procedures, and programs in accordance with local, state, and federal regulations.
• Identify, document, analyse, plan, monitor, and control risks across construction and development sites.
• Conduct regular safety inspections and audits on buildings, job sites, and properties to identify hazards and ensure compliance with safety standards.
• Provide training and education to employees on safety procedures and protocols.
• Investigate accidents and incidents, preparing reports with recommendations for corrective action.
• Maintain and update safety records, documentation, and incident logs.
• Collaborate with project managers, site supervisors, and construction teams to ensure safety protocols are followed and address any safety concerns.
• Keep up-to-date with industry best practices, safety trends, and regulatory changes.
• Develop emergency response plans and conduct drills to ensure site preparedness.
• Manage relationships with external safety consultants, regulatory agencies, and contractors.
• Mentor and lead junior health and safety team members.
• Promote a culture of safety throughout the company, encouraging proactive safety practices.

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Science, or a related field.
• Minimum of 6 years of experience in a health and safety management role, preferably within the construction or property development sectors.
• In-depth knowledge of local, state, and federal safety regulations.
• Certification in Occupational Health and Safety (e.g., CSP, CIH) is preferred.
