Housekeeping Manager

SUMMARY:
An exclusive private game reserve overlooking the majestic Drakensberg mountain range is looking for a HOUSEKEEPING MANAGER to join their team

POSITION INFO:
RESPONSIBILITIES: 

• Team leadership and supervision
• Oversee the daily cleaning and maintenance of guest rooms, common areas, and back-of-house spaces.
• Inspect rooms and facilities to ensure cleanliness and adherence to standards.
• Address maintenance issues and coordinate with maintenance staff for repairs
• Ensure a high standard of cleanliness at all times
• Handle guest requests, complaints, or special requirements promptly and professionally.
• Maintain a positive and welcoming atmosphere for all lodge guests.
• Monitor and manage housekeeping inventory, including linens, cleaning supplies, and amenities.
• Implement and maintain cleaning protocols, including for high-traffic and sensitive areas.
• Conduct regular training for staff on safe handling of cleaning chemicals and equipment.
• Work closely with the front office and maintenance teams to ensure smooth operations.
• Communicate with other departments about guest arrivals, departures, and special requests.
• Support lodge events or functions by coordinating housekeeping needs.

• Any relevant tertiary qualification would be an advantage
• A minimum of 5 years of relevant housekeeping management experience 
• Computer literacy (basic knowledge of Res request a plus)
• Driver's license is a must
• Well-spoken and able to communicate and write in English
• Impeccable organisational, delegation and leadership skills
