The ideal incumbent will have the relevant IT qualifications and competencies coupled with 3 years ‘hands[1]on’ experience as an ICT Technician at a SME.
Key Areas and Competencies
This role includes the following key areas and competencies:
IT Support:
• Assist staff and pupils with daily device support, including, but not limited to laptops iPads, mobile phones, and printers; troubleshoot different computer issues.
• The setup up of new equipment and upgrading of existing systems; installing hardware or software.
• Maintain, upgrade or replace classroom, multi-purpose and other areas’ IT resources; be involved in planning efforts and liaise with suppliers/contractors when necessary/as directed.
• Manage and maintain the Macbook labs and the computing resources therein.
• Assist, where necessary, with network functions and the daily operation thereof.
• Support the Helpdesk; monitor and maintain call logs.
• Maintain inventory listings and documentation of all processes.
AV Support:
• Assist staff and pupils with daily AV in classrooms, multi-purpose venues and other areas for lessons, events and other school-related gatherings at the Senior School.
• Manage the resources and support events in Herschel’s key point venues (e.g. Theatre; Chapel), within the school day and after hours.
• Liaise with service provides to obtain quotes for events, the arrangements resulting therefrom, and any other duties required from organisers of events, within reason.
• Maintain, upgrade or replace classroom, multi-purpose and other areas’ AV resources; be involved in planning efforts and liaise with suppliers/contractors when necessary/as directed.
• Maintain the Asset Registry of equipment and regularly audit the state of all venues under this role.
• Keep all areas listed above in a neat state and completely organized, including store areas.
Educational Requirements
Preferred qualifications, or similar:
• Comptia A+; N+ Certification
• An IT Diploma will also be advantageous
