Duties included:
Guide and manage the overall provision of IR services for the region
Develop an overall IR strategy with measurable objectives for the region
Manage the staffing requirements of the IR department to effectively serve the needs of the region
Ensure compliance in respect of all matters related to IR and/or labour including but not limited to the following legislation; LRA, BCEA, EEA, SDA, OHSA and Employment Services Act
Provide training to managers and employees on all IR and /or labour related matters including chairing and representing in disciplinary inquiries, dealing with the absconding procedure, drafting charges etc.
Effectively manage the IR Officer/s and IR Administrator
Ensure all internal IR and/or labour related matters, including disciplinary inquiries poor work performance, incapacity, retrenchments, grievances, strikes, CCMA and bargaining council matters are recorded and kept
Ensuring that all IR related Policies and Procedures are up to date and compliant with current legislation and case law
Produce monthly stats reports for management including analysis of trends and/or challenges, concerns and risks
Ensure that all stats are provided to the Group's Internal Audit and Risk Manager, as and when requested
Objectively measure and manage the performance of staff within the department
Identify, attract and retain talented staff and staff in key/critical positions
Identify areas of development for staff
Qualifications and requirements:
Degree in Labour Law or related
5+ years experience in similar role
Willing to travel
