SUMMARY:
A Technology Hub on the outskirts of Cape CBD is seeking to appoint an experienced and energetic IT Desktop Administrator on-site R20K - R25K per month

JOB DESCRIPTION:

MAIN PURPOSE FOR THE ROLE:

  • Provide efficient, accurate and flexible coordination of resources, support to staff by performing desktop administrative tasks including meeting room set-ups, IT related trouble shooting, preparing information for IT related reports, be the communication to the finance department for IT related invoices and expenses.
  • Provides infrastructural support to the staff and clients be responding to all incoming service requests for PC''s/laptops.
  • Maintenance if the fixed asset counts and upkeep of all infrastructure equipment.     

KEY COMPETENCY REQUIREMENTS:   

  • Certificate / Diploma Project Management or similar field desirable
  • Matric Certificate
  • Relevant Software/IT qualification/certifications
  • Minimum 5-years’ experience in a similar or related field is ESSENTIAL
  • People and process management
  • Strong administration skills and experience in MS office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Ability to work independently with minimal managerial supervision
  • Open and reflective

  • Preference will be given to candidates in the Western Cape as no relocation costs will be considered.

KEY ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Working with office 365 Admin to setup and configure mailboxes
  • VPN Setup
  • Updating the ticket system when an issue has been escalated or resolved
  • Updating and installing security software on computers
  • Update the Register of fixed assets and the useful life
  • Undertake Coordination tasks as required to ensure the effective delivery outputs
  • Training junior (Interns) staff
  • Support with network and internet connectivity issues
  • Setup users to printers and resolving printer issues
  • Setting up new users on Active Directory with the correct credentials and permissions
  • Setting up new lab spaces for 50 – 100 students (Computers and connectivity to Internet, Wireless/Cable)
  • Responsible for asset management
  • Respond to all incoming service request (Service and desktop support must be resolved in a timely manner)
  • Report monthly on the fresh desk analysis
  • Regular fixed asset verifications (Monthly review of all electronic fixed assets across sites and co-ordinate the asset counts with the site fixed asset supervisor).
  • Providing 1st line technical support to staff and students via telephone, email, in person and remotely.
  • Ordering stock, e.g., toner cartridges, Computers, Laptops, PC replacement parts, cables, etc
  • Obtaining of quotes from creditors when needed
  • Monitor company’s cameras
  • Making sure SQL server run regular backups
  • Maintaining IT equipment, including computer, laptops, printers and projectors
  • Logging student and employee queries on the ticket system
  • Liaising with Second Line Network Support
  • IT Support for events (Includes assisting with moving tables etc)
  • Helping to manage servers, routers and switches
  • Events and meeting set-up and ensure that all IT requirements are met
  • Ensure the stability of the IT infrastructure.
  • Diagnosing and resolving software and hardware issues for students and staff
  • Be able to manage fresh desk
  • Assisting Finance department with Sage evolution and Sage VIP support
  • Assist in resolving supplier queries
  • Assembling, installing, configuring and upgrading computers
