Design, code and implement systems for a variety of INSETA data processing needs

JOB DESCRIPTION:

PURPOSE OF THE JOB

Design, code and implement systems for a variety of INSETA data processing needs; perform data administration, data migration, user requirements gathering and analysis, enhancements of existing systems to meet changes in legislation and business processes; develop maintenance and user documentation to support systems; test and debug programs for accuracy and reliability; and user training.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, COMPETENCE AND EXPERIENCE

EXPERIENCE

  • An independent contractor with Full Stack Development skills, Odoo or python certification. 
  • Experience in Python, XML, JavaScript, SQL, CSS3, HTML 5, and other languages and databases (e.g., PostgreSQL, MySQL, MongoDB, SQL), web servers (e.g., NGINX) and UI/UX design, Microsoft Azure DevOps, GitHub; working knowledge of Linux OS.
  • The independent contractor must understand the SETA's Reporting processes such as NLRD and SETMIS and be able to develop and implement the files.
  • Diagnoses performance issues, and determines appropriate development

        approach to suit the individual's learning style.

  • Paces the level and quality of instruction or coaching to allow assimilation of the learning matter.
  • Encourages self-reliance and is approachable and reliable.

  • Evaluates the effectiveness of data gathering and distribution channels (e.g.
  • web pages, call centres, complaints, etc.).
  • Installs and maintains document management, storage, and retrieval systems.
  • Maintains effective communication channels enabled with current technologies.

  • Tests new technologies, work processes and practices to make transactions and the collection of data and information more effective.
  • Evaluates recent technological innovations as they relate to workplace systems.
  • Integrates technology and information technology systems with workplace activities to resolve operational problems.
