JOB DESCRIPTION:

Description of Position
Executes service delivery operations, operates IT user support and provides IT assistance for the IT department.

Qualification, Experience and Technical Requirement
  • Matric Certificate 
  • MTCNA (Advantageous)

  • A+ and N+
  • Minimum of 1 - 3 years IT Technician Experience
Special Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
  • Excellent command of English language (reading, writing and communicating) – Strong communication and interpersonal skills. 
  • Strict adherence to confidential information
  • Planning, organizing, prioritizing and time management skills are important
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize daily workload
  • Proficient in analysing numerical, verbal and other sources of information to provide solutions.
  • High level of attention to detail and accuracy and the ability to work under pressure
  • Strong cognitive thinking ability, and the ability to take initiative
Roles and Responsibilities
  • Ensure existing and new IT infrastructure is added to the Network Management Control System.
  • Install scanning agents on IT hardware & run setup scripts.
  • Installing and configuring computer hardware, operating systems and applications.
  • Troubleshoot systems, network problems and diagnose and solve hardware or software faults. 
  • Monitor & maintain computer systems and networks.
  • Communicate with End Users and obtain accurate details of faults.
  • Troubleshoot and repair faults obtained from End Users and report back to End User the reason for the fault and steps taken to repair faults.
  • Setting up new users' accounts and profiles and dealing with password issues.
  • Assist End Users through a series of actions, face to face, telephonically or through a remote desktop connection to help set up systems or resolve issues
  • Identify computers & printers, tag assets and update registers.
  • Collect new equipment from suppliers & sites.
  • Return faulty hardware to the relevant suppliers or repair centres.
