POSITION INFO:
My client is seeking a motivated and experienced Buyer to enhance their operations and contribute to their mission of delivering best-in-class logistics solutions.
The successful candidate will play a critical role in managing procurement processes, ensuring compliance, and maintaining effective communication with suppliers and stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities:
- Procurement & Supplier Management:
- Source, negotiate, and manage supplier contracts to meet company needs.
- Handle tenders, supplier documentation, and manage supplier relationships.
- Address supplier and client queries promptly and effectively.
- Exports & Imports Management:
- Oversee and manage export and import processes to ensure smooth operations.
- Maintain compliance with SARS regulations and ensure adherence to SADC region requirements.
- Stakeholder Engagement:
- Liaise with internal and external stakeholders to ensure alignment and satisfaction.
- Act as a key point of contact for supplier and client communications.
- Compliance & Documentation:
- Ensure adherence to SLAs, SOPs, and other regulatory standards.
- Maintain accurate records and documentation for audits and compliance purposes.
- Reporting & Analysis:
- Prepare procurement reports and analyze data for insights and improvements.
- Utilize ERP systems to manage procurement activities efficiently.
Minimum Qualifications & Experience:- National Diploma in Procurement, Logistics, or a related field (CIPS certification is an added benefit).
- 3-5 years of experience in a similar role within the mining, manufacturing, or construction industries.
- Extensive exposure to exports and imports (non-negotiable).
- Experience with tenders, supplier management, and compliance.
- Familiarity with ERP systems and advanced reporting skills.
- Strong organisational, communication, and problem-solving abilities.
