SUMMARY:
Job Title: Injection Mould Setter
Location: Centurion

Our client, a specialist manufacturer for plastic components, is looking to employ an Injection Mould Setter to join their team in Centurion.

The Injection Mould Setter will use a variety of materials such as basic polypropylene, ABS and glass filled nylon. 
The Mould Setter will also need to conduct mould changes, set-ups and maintenance, and oversee the production in conjunction with the Operations Manager.

Duties & Responsibilities:

• Liaising with the Operations/Production Manager regarding production plans/deadlines
• Installing moulds and adjusting machine settings as required throughout the production run
• Setting up machines for new moulds (finding optimal settings)
• Ensuring products meet quality requirements throughout the entire run
• Reporting and rectifying areas of concern relating to the machines and the moulds in order to minimise the creation of defective products/downtime
• Ensuring necessary ongoing machine, infrastructure and mould maintenance
• Ensuring completion of all production related paperwork – including records kept of machine break downs and troubleshooting
• Keeping track of stock levels of required raw materials
• Overseeing the assembly and packaging of products
• Willing to work overtime (occasionally staying later on normal shifts if required, occasional weekends, public holidays)

POSITION INFO:
Required qualification and working knowledge:

• Grade 12
• Technical certification or diploma in manufacturing or plastics technology would be advantageous.
• Experience in Injection moulding, machine setup and operation in a manufacturing environment.
• Familiarity with various types of injection moulding machines and auxiliary equipment – knowledge of robots (3 and 5 axis) would be advantageous.
• Knowledge of mould setup, troubleshooting, and production optimization techniques.
• Overhead crane and forklift licences would be advantageous.
