Inspector/Quality Controller

Duties of the Inspector includes:

1. Prepare the equipment and measuring instruments needed.
2. Ensure that equipment is working correctly, verity the expiry date of calibration and recheck the periodical calibration.
3. Identify the correct substrate to be machined or inspected.
4. Check substrate visually and record defects into the system.
5. Check the dimensions of substrates using manual gauge and record defects.
6. Ensure continuous feed to the line.
7. Collect samples of major defects for discussion at daily quality meeting.
8. Record inspection results.
9. Inform the Team Leader of all abnormal situations.
10. Perform any other reasonable tasks as requested by the Team Leader.

Applicants must meet the following requirements in order to be considered:

• Matric/Grade 12 with a minimum of Grade 10 Maths
• Minimum of 2 years working experience ideally obtained in a manufacturing environment.
• Minimum of 1 years previous inspection/QC experience gained in a manufacturing environment.
• Accuracy and high attention to detail.
• Able to operate a computer for data input and retrieval purposes.
• Good communication skills.
• The ability to read and accurately interpret documents such as operating instructions and procedure manuals.
• Ability to follow strict operating procedures.
• Quality and continuous improvement orientation.
• Able to work well within a team environment.
• Able to present information in small group meetings.Excellent eyesight.
• Willingness to work shifts.
