Instrumentation Electrician

SUMMARY:

A leading pet food manufacturing company with a keen interest in the companion animal industry is seeking the above to install, maintain, repair, and troubleshoot electrical and instrumentation systems in an industrial setting, ensuring safe and efficient operations.

POSITION INFO:

Minimum requirements for the role:

• Must have a completed apprenticeship or diploma in Electrical/Instrumentation Technology
• Must be a certified Electrician or Instrumentation Technician
• Minimum 3 years’ experience in a production environment, achieving efficiency targets
• Proficient in troubleshooting electrical and instrumentation systems
• Knowledge of safety protocols (e.g., Lockout/Tagout, Arc Flash) is essential
• Familiarity with industry standards and codes is advantageous
• Strong problem-solving, communication, and teamwork skills

• Installing, maintaining, and repairing electrical systems (up to 600V).
• Troubleshooting electrical issues using multimeters, oscilloscopes, and other testing equipment.
• Conducting electrical safety inspections and preventive maintenance.
• Wiring and connecting electrical devices, motors, and control panels.
• Installing, calibrating, and maintaining devices like pressure, temperature, flow, and level transmitters.
• Troubleshooting instrumentation issues with specialized tools and software.
• Configuring, programming, and performing loop checks and functional testing on instrumentation systems.
• Interpreting and working with electrical/instrumentation diagrams, blueprints, and schematics.
• Collaborating with engineers, technicians, and other tradespeople.
• Developing and adhering to safety protocols and procedures.
• Maintaining accurate records and documentation.
• Participating in plant shutdowns, maintenance, and upgrades.
• Adhering to all health and food safety regulations, ensuring compliance with statutory and regulatory standards.
