Job Title: Internal Sales / Receptionist
Location: Montague Gardens, Cape Town
Salary: R15,000 – R20,000 CTC per month (plus commission)
Reports to: Sales Manager / Office Manager
Company Overview:
Our client, a well-established company in the steel, roofing, and construction industry, is seeking an enthusiastic and experienced Internal Sales / Receptionist to join their team in Cape Town. This role offers a unique opportunity to combine customer service, sales, and administrative support, while contributing to the growth and success of the business.
Position Overview:
The Internal Sales / Receptionist will be responsible for front-line customer service, answering calls, greeting visitors, and supporting the sales team with order processing, quotes, and other administrative duties. The ideal candidate will have previous experience in the steel, roofing, or construction industries, with a strong sales aptitude and excellent organizational skills.
Key Responsibilities:
Reception & Customer Service:
- Greet and assist customers, visitors, and vendors in a friendly and professional manner.
- Answer and direct phone calls, taking accurate messages when necessary.
- Manage the reception area, ensuring it is clean and welcoming.
- Provide general administrative support to the office and sales team.
Sales Support & Order Processing:
- Assist the sales team by managing incoming sales inquiries and following up on leads.
- Prepare and send quotes to customers based on their requirements.
- Process customer orders and ensure accurate order entry into the system.
- Communicate with clients to confirm orders and delivery schedules.
- Assist with the management of customer relationships, ensuring satisfaction and repeat business.
Product Knowledge & Industry Expertise:
- Provide customers with detailed information about the company’s products and services in the steel, roofing, or construction sectors.
- Stay up-to-date with product offerings and market trends in the industry.
- Advise customers on suitable products based on their specific needs and project requirements.
General Administrative Duties:
- Perform data entry and maintain accurate customer records in the company’s CRM system.
- Manage filing, invoicing, and documentation related to sales and customer transactions.
- Monitor inventory levels and liaise with suppliers for stock orders when necessary.
Sales Targets & Commission:
- Achieve sales targets and contribute to the company’s revenue goals.
- Participate in sales promotions and strategies to drive business growth.
- Earn commission based on sales performance, with opportunities to increase earnings based on targets met.
Key Requirements:
Experience & Knowledge:
- Minimum of 2-3 years’ experience in an internal sales or customer service role within the steel, roofing, or construction industry.
- Experience with order processing, quoting, and customer relationship management.
- Strong understanding of products and services in the steel, roofing, or construction sectors (preferred).
Skills & Competencies:
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage with customers and internal teams.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
- Experience with CRM systems or sales software (e.g., Pastel, Syspro, or similar) is advantageous.
- Ability to work effectively under pressure and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.

Additional Information:
- Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM.
- Location: Boksburg, Johannesburg (candidates must be based in or willing to relocate to the area).
- Salary: R15,000 – R20,000 CTC per month (dependent on experience), with commission based on sales performance.
- Reports to: Sales Manager / Office Manager.
