Investment Controller

Key responsibilities will include:

• Responsible for submission of various data, fixed cost control, projects post implementation reviews and control, and general support to the MSA Central Controlling Team
• Coordinate Investment committee meetings
• Review financial calculations for all material projects including Net Present Value (NPV) and potential disposals of assets and working capital impacts
• Monitor project returns and reporting thereof
• Coordinate post investment reviews and review related financial analysis
• Coordinate approval of variations from approved budgets
• Coordinate budgeting / forecasting for project approvals and spend
• Earnings Before Interest and Taxes (EBIT) and working capital impacts of implemented projects
• Report on capex approvals and phasing of spend as well as foreign exchange impacts
• Review material capitalisations for adequate componentisation
• Provide support on operational excellence improvements in the mills
• Provide support on Continuous Improvement Projects
• Manage two (2) direct reportees responsible for projects accounting
• Provide technical IFRS and group policy support to the business
• Assist with Fixed asset verifications
• Ad hoc Projects reporting tasks

The ideal candidate should meet the following requirements:

• BCom Honours Accounting or similar equivalent commercial qualification
• Completed SAICA training contract (Articles)
• 2 years commercial experience
• IFRS 16 and IAS 16 knowledge
• Microsoft packages, with advanced Excel
• Competent in the use of SAP Finance / Accounting modules
• Chartered Accountant (SA) (Advantageous)
• Project management / controlling (Advantageous)
• Travel, as and when required
