JHB Distribution Supervisor (FMCG)

SUMMARY:
Large food manufactruring company requires a Distribution Supervisor to coordinate activities together with the expeditor of the distribution team to ensure that products are delivered accurately on time and in efficient and effective manner.

The position is based in Johannesburg and the incumbent will report to the JHB Depot Manager.

POSITION INFO:
Purpose:

This role requires cross-functional interation and involves implementing and maintaining the overall fleet, safety protocols, ensuring customer service levels are set and achieved and optimizing distribution processes, e.g. overtime, route optimization and communication to various BU’s, with reporting to illustrate such. Measuring, tracking and reporting on progress against objectives. Delivering through scorecard, tracking and optimization.

Duties include:

Oversee the activities of distribution staff to ensure efficient workflow and adherence to company policies
Score Card distribution activities and communicate efficiencies to Depot Manager
Ensure timely and accurate delivery of products to customers by coordinating transportation and logistics:

• Ensure route optimization
• Ensure fleet is in excellent working condition
• Build relationship with vendors for fleet management

• Check daily fleet inspection sheet and address issues reported
• Ensure team comply to regulations and resolve any issues that arise with Depot Manager

• Provide training and development where deemed necessary – reporting from Expeditor to establish needs
• Ensure yearly workshops with team to refresh adherence and understanding of responsibilities, documentation as well as safety training – usually year end

• Understanding of issues reported and address any concerns, risks to ensure that team adherence to score card outputs

• Compile daily, weekly as well as monthly reporting to be communicated to Bus, Call Centre as well as Debtors

• Relevant Degree or studying towards
• Min 2 years’ experience
• Relevant Quality, Food Safety and Safety Systems knowledge preferred
• Knowledge of cold chain supply preferred
• Fluent in English
• Intermediate computer literacy
